This fall, Alex is excited to be choreographing the David Catan composed Opera FLORENCIA EN LA AMAZONAS for The Metropolitan Opera. The production is directed by Mary Zimmerman and is scheduled to premiere November 16th.
Recent News
He recently choreographed the opening number of THE BCEFA EASTER BONNET at The Minskoff Theatre, home of Broadways LION KIING. This marked the 34th year since the founding of BCEFA and the first in person performance of the annual charity event since the Covid shutdown of 2020.
Alex also choreographed A Chorus Line for The Cincinnati Playhouse. Creating all new choreography for this reimagined production directed by the Producing Artistic Director of Cincinnati Playhouse, Blake Robison.
In January, Alex directed a reading of the new musical INFERNAL at theater 555. The AEA 29 hour reading was produced by Perry Street Productions.
He won the 2022 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Choreography for his new original choreography of WEST SIDE STORY for The Marriott Theatre of Chicago.

Musical Stager for the new Broadway musical PARADISE SQUARE. The show performed at The Ethel Barrymore Theater. It began previews on March 15th with an official opening April 3rd and closed July 17th. The production was produced by Garth Drabinsky's Tiberius Productions and directed by Moises Kaufman.
